Ideas

Big concepts, small works

is a proposal that intercepts the world of art in a transgressive way, through the revisionism of perceptual standards when it comes to cultivating the structures in which we appreciate the cultural contexts in which we are immersed. The main idea is to create great concepts, in terms of content and size, with small plastic works that accompany and represent these great ideas.

This first approximation of the project gives us a visual and graphic aspect where the idea that is behind it, where to put as the axis and center of attention and expose words made concepts as works of art gives us the illusion that they are what give a beginning and an entire finish and so to speak they are the work of art. Many times the concepts behind each piece or installation go beyond the work itself, expressing or abounding the physical piece to give us an aura.

Tribal symbolsof the future

INfinite QR Code Room

Entering a scannable cube or labyrinth of qr codes: invites us to scan, perceive and contemplate these contemporary codes from their visual perspective, to go beyond mere functionality and reach their aesthetic perception through the use of resources such as repetition and exaggeration.

Codes that represent our contemporary digital communication that they have a tribal reminiscence that leads us to rethink the place they occupy in our lives to connect us from a visual and technological perspective.

QR Codes are like bridges that transport us from the physical to the digital plane through tactile mediators such as our screens.

QR codes are communication structures that transport us to another place through our screen, currently they are in a secondary plane, reinforcing and hosting information from a merely functional perspective, that is why in this project the idea is to decontextualize these codes and transport them to the plane of our reality by reconnecting with the elements of nature and past symbols and from ancient cultures.

This work allows us to combine the visual with the conceptual, taking the QR code out of context to become a symbol of our contemporary culture.

ChairXion

Chairxion is an installation to contemplate and use the connection between the physical plane and the digital plane.

This piece is made with cables and chargers of digital devices that maintain their functionality, and that act as a center of digital connection, natural as well as human.

These elements go through a metal and foam structure, the latter emulating the digital cloud, in order to form a network where devices are welcome to be part of an interchangeable sculpture. The ends act as ports to receive these electronic devices that are arranged in various ways around the structure.

This piece combines elements of digital life as well as natural life where the earth, plants and cables create an ethereal symbiosis that poses a view from the perspective of connection, thus banishing the annomie between them.

Facebook Pazworlds

Facebook pazworlds, is a project that derives from an experience I created online: An open Facebook profile where everyone could log in and be Sacha Toncovich (an anonymous user) until another user closed it by changing the profile data. The email to log in is pazsword.pazsword@gmail.com and the password was :)))))))))):

This password served as inspiration to create graphic pieces, paintings and performances based on this password.

The idea of this online performance was to utopianly challenge the laws of security, privacy and individualism, of social networks in this case Facebook, through the objective that all registered users use a single profile.
